Summer on Cape Cod may be short-lived, but it’s certainly exquisite while it lasts! One of the best ways to heighten your enjoyment of the season is by relaxing or entertaining on your deck.
PVC decking such as AZEK or Trex typically performs much better on Cape Cod than does traditional wood. While composite decking is more expensive initially, homeowners save on upkeep costs over time. AZEK and Trex require very little maintenance other than periodic pressure washing, and last much longer than wood. Even pressure-treated wood will warp over time as it absorbs moisture.
AZEK is weather- and termite-resistant, is not susceptible to rot or moisture, and won’t fade under harsh sun. Trex has the traditional look of natural wood, with a design that mimics the subtle imperfections found in real wood grain. It resists scratching and is eco-friendly, made from 95% recycled materials.
After selecting your decking material of choice, you will also have a few options for walls and steps. We can build a shingled privacy wall (4-6′ high, with custom diamonds or scallops), or we can do a traditional rail system.
For stairs or steps, we often use two different PVC colors to create an attractive darker border.
For decorative appeal, we can also build a pergola into your rail system. This enables you to use your deck whenever you want without worrying about getting too much sun exposure.
The options are endless!
